Aloud Support
Last updated: 7 September 2026
Aloud turns your voice into finished notes — transcribed, polished and summarised automatically. This page covers the questions that come up most.
Getting started
Open Aloud and tap the record button to start recording straight away. Say what's on your mind and tap stop. Aloud transcribes the audio, polishes it into clean text, and writes a title and summary — then saves it to your journal.
Do I need an account?
Not to get started. Open Aloud and record — there's nothing to sign up for, and your notes are stored on your device. An account comes later, for the features that need one, such as using your journal across devices.
Does it work offline?
Recording works offline, but transcribing and polishing a recording needs an internet connection, because that step runs in the cloud. If you record offline, process the note once you're back online.
How much does it cost?
Your first 60 minutes of transcription are free. After that you can buy hours in simple packs that never expire — you only pay for the time you actually transcribe. You can see how much you've used in the app.
I bought hours but don't see them
Purchased hours are credited to your device once Apple confirms the purchase. If they don't appear within a minute, check your internet connection and reopen the app. If they're still missing, email us with the date of purchase and we'll help.
Are my recordings private?
Your recordings and notes stay on your device. To transcribe and polish, a recording is sent securely for processing and is not stored on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail, including the services we use.
How do I delete a note, or all my data?
Delete an individual note in the app. To remove everything stored locally, delete the app. Our backend holds only anonymous usage and purchase records with nothing that identifies you.
